It’s hard to see in this photo, but if you look just behind the cab of the ute, you will see the monkey from the very first livingrooms was tied to the back of this council ute, as a momento!
It was found where they were cleaning up in the park around the old velodrome in Camperdown early this morning!
I guess they just couldn’t bear to get rid of him!

Hey Kat,
Great project! Did you ever get a chance to talk to the Council workers who removed the living rooms? Wonder where the monkey is now… do you ever see this van around?

Hi Norie – cheers!
I didn’t speak to the workers that tied the monkey to their ute, but it might still be there! I’m not sure because I haven’t seen it around since that post, but I haven’t been to that park when people are working there since either…
I did speak to some council workers the first day that one was put up in Camperdown Park though, I posted a video of them taking photos on their camera phones – they said;
“We saw it here early this morning and thought that someone must be living here, but then we realised that they weren’t and we think it’s so cute! They even have a cute little monkey in the bed!”
I also spoke to the council workers at Sydney Park, I asked them what was going on, and they said;
“Well obviously some one has set this up here overnight – it’s a good idea but too bad they didn’t get permission from the council – so we’re going to have to remove it.”
Unfortunately I wasn’t there when any of the others were removed though, but I’d be interested to know what they thought about it!
